Interface between politics and business

In addition to its ties to the Indian film industry, the festival has significance in the fields of business and politics. The city partnership between Mumbai and the memorandum of understanding, which was concluded in 2015 between Baden-Württemberg and the Indian state of Maharashtra, as well as the activities of the Indian Honorary Consulate under honorary consul Andreas Lapp make Stuttgart and the festival to the center of German-Indian relations. Many companies in Baden-Württemberg work closely with Indian partners or even have branches in India.

The political work of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Economic Development of the city of Stuttgart and the city of Karlsruhe show that the Indian market is still wanted and desired by a high level of interest and a continuous contact on the political level is desired. The delegations of recent years also clearly show that there is great demand and interest from the business community. The Indian Film Festival Stuttgart has taken on an important task, in which it encourages and promotes bilateral exchange during talks and encounters.
