A thief snatches a packet of bread from a small child, whereupon a determined policeman sets off in pursuit in a densely wooded area. During the wild chase, both the thief and the policeman fall into a deep pit. As they struggle to come to terms with their predicament, hunger sets in – and the stolen bread becomes their only source of sustenance.
